Over the course of his career, James has worked on feature films, television series, music videos, commercials, digital content, and independent productions. His credits include work with NBCUniversal, New Line Cinema, Fox Creative, Stellascope, and the popular YouTube production company Reckless Tortuga. He served as Script Supervisor on Extra Butter, Please, 1st Assistant Director on The CLAN, and helped produce Beck's acclaimed music video Heart Is a Drum while working at Stellascope.

After years of helping bring other creators' visions to life, James shifted his focus toward developing and directing original projects through Crowder Films. He has written, directed, produced, and edited several independent films, including Princess, Princess (2019), Luna Di Morte (2023), and Rîo Monstruo (2024).

His latest short film, Rîo Monstruo, has earned recognition on the film festival circuit, winning Best Short Film at the Black and White Film Festival, receiving Official Selection status at five film festivals, and earning one Honorable Mention. The film's success reflects James's commitment to character-driven storytelling, a strong visual style, and excellence in independent filmmaking.

In addition to narrative filmmaking, James directs and produces commercial content, educational programs, social media campaigns, and branded media for businesses and entrepreneurs. His background as a writer, director, editor, and producer allows him to oversee projects from initial concept through final delivery.

Recognizing the challenges actors face in breaking into the entertainment industry, James also founded Hit Your Mark Acting Reels, a specialized service dedicated to helping performers create professional, high-quality acting reels. Drawing on decades of experience working alongside casting directors, producers, and industry professionals, James created the company to help actors present themselves at their best, secure more auditions, attract representation, and take meaningful steps toward building successful careers in Hollywood. By producing custom-written scenes tailored to each actor's strengths, Hit Your Mark Acting Reels provides emerging and working performers with the professional materials they need to stand out in a competitive marketplace.

Today, James continues to develop feature films, short films, digital content, acting reels, and audio dramas through Crowder Films. His newest project, The Monroe Mysteries (2026), is a serialized detective radio drama inspired by classic noir storytelling, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Whether directing actors, writing screenplays, producing content, or mentoring performers through the reel creation process, James remains dedicated to helping stories—and storytellers—find their audience.
